EPA Mandated Water Line Inventory

Throughout the summer of 2024, Tuscaloosa Water completed an EPA mandated water line inventory to document the material used in water service lines on the privately-owned side of City water meters.

Of the 55,508 water lines inventoried, no lead lines were identified, and only 14 lines were made of galvanized steel requiring replacement per EPA requirements. Tuscaloosa Water staff will coordinate directly with the property owners at these 14 addresses about the next steps.

The City of Tuscaloosa’s searchable waterline inventory map is below. This map can be used to look up the material of the water line at any City of Tuscaloosa address.

Please note: if your address is in a multi-unit dwelling, please contact Tuscaloosa Water at 205-248-5601 to determine the material of your line.
