The City of Tuscaloosa hosted Love our Lakes Day on Saturday, April 20. Presented by Russell Marine, this community-driven initiative aims to preserve the pristine beauty of Lake Tuscaloosa.
Volunteers joined City staff on personal and City boats, and collected litter, trash and debris from around the lakes. Together, staff and volunteers collected 3,420 pounds (1.71 tons) of litter.
Love our Lakes Day is an annual event to encourage the community to come together to make positive impact and ensure the health and cleanliness of Lake Tuscaloosa, the primary source of drinking water for Tuscaloosa residents.
